For more than a decade, it has been our profound honor to serve the Greensboro community — to be the place people turned to when they needed compassionate, trusted care. So it is with deep gratitude, and no small amount of heartache, that we share some important news.
Our Greensboro, NC clinic will be stopping abortion care on March 31st. Our clinic will remain open for follow-up care until our closure on April 30th.
This was not a decision we made quickly or easily. We have watched our Greensboro community evolve, and as abortion at our clinic has gradually declined, we’ve simultaneously seen tremendous growth and demand at our Danville, VA location. Closing Greensboro allows us to direct our full energy and resources toward expanding the care we provide at our Charlotte and Raleigh, NC; Danville, VA; and Jacksonville, FL clinics — ensuring more people can access the care they need, when they need it.
What this means for you
We know that clinic closures create real burdens — longer drives, more time off work, childcare arrangements, and added costs. We don’t take that lightly. That’s why our caring call center team is here to help you think through your options and find the path forward that works for your life.
If you need abortion care after March 31st, we want you to know: you still have options, and we’re still here for you.
Our Danville, VA clinic is just 40 minutes from Greensboro — and it offers significantly broader access to care. While North Carolina law limits abortion services to 12.6 weeks and requires a 72-hour waiting period (the longest state-mandated waiting period in the country), our Danville clinic can provide care through 20 weeks, with the possibility of same-day appointments.
Our Charlotte and Raleigh, NC, and Jacksonville, FL clinics are also expanding their capacity to serve more patients.
And if you’d like to explore other providers, you can find a clinic near you at INeedAnA.com.
Your records are safe
Following the closure, all medical records will be handled in full compliance with HIPAA and applicable state and federal laws — retained for the legally required period and securely destroyed when that time has passed. To request a copy of your records, please contact us at 904-448-8877.
Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for letting us be part of your story. We carry this community with us as we continue our work — and we remain committed to showing up for every person who needs us.
With care,
A Woman’s Choice of Greensboro
