Being a patient navigator at A Woman’s Choice Clinics means standing with patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives and ensuring they aren’t going through it alone. Our role as patient navigators centers on helping remove as many barriers as we can that people face when seeking abortion care. As patient navigators with A Woman’s Choice Clinics, we coordinate appointments, arrange transportation, secure funding for the cost of the abortion for those in financial need, organize lodging, and help patients understand their abortion care options across different states and clinic locations.
Our work happens behind the scenes; we view ourselves as the coordinators of logistical chaos, with many moving parts working together so patients can access care with dignity, privacy, respect, and compassion. As a patient navigator, I connect patients with trusted resources, explain each step of the process clearly, and ensure they feel supported, helping reduce feelings of overwhelm.
Beyond logistics, patient navigators provide emotional support and steady guidance. We help ease fear and confusion, answer questions honestly, and advocate for each patient’s right to make their own healthcare decisions, especially abortions. At A Woman’s Choice Clinics, patient navigation is about more than access — it’s about ensuring every person feels seen, respected, and empowered throughout their care journey.

Ser facilitadora de recursos para las pacientes de A Woman’s Choice significa mucho para mí, porque me permite ayudar y apoyar a las personas en un momento en el que muchas veces se sienten vulnerables, confundidas o incluso con miedo de ser juzgadas. Cada paciente llega con una historia distinta y para mí es un honor poder brindarles un espacio seguro donde se sientan escuchadas, respetadas y acompañadas.
Mi trabajo consiste en orientar y guiar a las pacientes durante todo el proceso, ofreciéndoles apoyo financiero para servicios de aborto, hospedaje en hoteles, boletos de avión y otros recursos necesarios para que puedan acceder a su atención médica sin más obstáculos. También me esfuerzo por informar sobre todas las opciones de ayuda disponibles, para que no sientan que están atravesando este camino solas.
Poder escuchar cada historia, ofrecer comprensión y ayudar a que las pacientes se sientan seguras en sus decisiones me llena de orgullo. Como dice nuestro lema en A Woman’s Choice, honramos tus esperanzas y tus sueños, y para mí es un privilegio formar parte de ese acompañamiento tan importante en la vida de cada persona que atendemos.
